How do you replace the stigma of seeking therapy with pride?
Hawaii Counseling and Wellness (previous name) sought to remove the stigma surrounding therapy and create a positive, empowering online experience. The challenge was to build a brand and website from the ground up that conveyed this message and fostered a welcoming environment for potential clients.
In researching competitor websites, I discovered a common trend of traditional, dull, and often stigmatizing imagery that contributed to feelings of shame and the sense that clients had taken a wrong turn in life.
To combat this, I developed the name “Brighter Bound,” embodying the journey toward self-improvement. I crafted a vibrant, approachable brand identity (with help from a logo designer) that emphasizes empowerment. The website features uplifting language, a friendly tone, and a clear, user-friendly layout, ensuring that visitors feel welcomed and inspired.
The result is an engaging online therapy platform that normalizes seeking help and promotes pride in the therapeutic journey.
